The FBI raided the Manhattan headquarters of New York's Central Labor Council Thursday.

An FBI spokesman say the raid on the office at West 15th Street is part of an ongoing investigation, but could not speak about the details.

The Labor Council is an umbrella group of nearly 400 city labor unions representing more than one million workers.

In a written statement, the council said it is fully cooperating with the FBI's requests for certain documents, but reiterates no one from their organization has been arrested or charged with a crime.

Sources have told NY1 that the council's president, Brian McLaughlin, is the one under investigation. The state assemblyman recently announced he is not seeking re-election because he wants to dedicate more time to the Labor Council.
